Cookie policy
Effective date: October 12, 2026
This page lists everything GirlFilter stores in your browser. We keep it short: a few items the site needs to work, and Google Analytics only if you allow it. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data.
Strictly necessary
These items keep you signed in, protect the sign-in flow and enforce the free daily limit. The site does not work without them, so they are set without asking.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
gf_session | Cookie | Keeps you signed in | 30 days |
gf_oauth | Cookie | Protects the Google sign-in flow against forgery | 10 minutes |
gf_device | Cookie | Random device ID, used only to enforce the daily free limit | 1 year |
gf_login_pending | Session storage | Notes that a sign-in is in progress, so we record a successful sign-in once | Removed right after sign-in, or when you close the tab |
gf:pending | Session storage | Holds your photo in this tab while you sign in, so you don't have to upload it again | Until it is restored, or until you close the tab |
girlfilter.consent.v1 | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics | Until you clear your browser data |
Our cookies are first-party, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. They are never shared with advertisers.
Analytics (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages help people. It runs in Consent Mode: analytics storage is off by default and turns on only after you press Accept in the cookie banner.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Cookie | Tells Google Analytics that two visits came from the same browser | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Cookie | Keeps the state of your current visit | Up to 2 years |
Analytics events never include your photo or your result. Google Analytics data is kept for 2 months.
How to change your choice
- Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to accept or decline analytics at any time.
